What Is the Camino de Santiago?
The Camino de Santiago, also known as The Way of St. James, is one of the most famous pilgrimage routes in the world. For over 1,000 years, people from all walks of life have journeyed across Spain and parts of Europe to reach the city of Santiago de Compostela, which is believed to be the final resting place of the Apostle James.
While it began as a religious pilgrimage, today, the Camino attracts travelers seeking spiritual renewal, adventure, reflection, or personal growth. There are many routes to Santiago, and your journey will follow the scenic Portuguese Coastal Camino, known for its ocean views, charming villages, and gentler terrain.
Walking the Camino is a profoundly personal and meaningful experience that invites you to slow down, connect with others, and be present in each step.
About Santiago de Compostela
Located in Galicia, in the northwest corner of Spain, Santiago de Compostela is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the spiritual heart of the Camino. Its magnificent cathedral marks the end of the pilgrimage and is said to house the remains of Saint James the Apostle.
Beyond its religious significance, Santiago is a vibrant city rich in culture, cuisine, and history. Cobbled streets, lively squares, and centuries-old buildings create a magical atmosphere that blends old-world charm with soulful celebration.
It’s the perfect place to honor your journey’s end—and begin a new chapter together.
Buen Camino!
